Dr. Hadiza Yakub

Title: Founder of Child Marriage Survivors and Principal Investigator

Dr. Hadiza Yakub: Principal Investigator and Founder, a community health care expert renowned for her pioneering research on the harms of child marriage. Educated in the UK and USA, dedicated to the course of underaged girls, and child brides. She interned at Girls for Health, a Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation project(G4H) in Federal University Birnin kebbi, Nigeria.

 Dr. Yakub is a dedicated Community Public Health Educator with extensive experience in health education, community outreach, and public health planning. She holds a PhD in Public Health (Community Health) from Walden University and has contributed to impactful research on child marriage. Served as a COVID-19 Surveillance volunteer Officer in Harris County, TX, and has implemented health education strategies and programs in the UK. Her expertise lies in disease prevention, emergency preparedness, and supporting vulnerable populations through effective health campaigns and community engagement. Professional experience and contributions to community health and child marriage initiatives, victims of child marriage.

Dr. Yakub Aliyu

Title: Operational Director and Secretary

Professor Dr. Yakub Aliyu: Operational Director and Secretary, former FUBK project coordinator in Girls for Health, a Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation project(G$H)t. , with extensive experience in NGOs promoting health and education in central Nigeria.

Prof. Aliyu is a veteran educator with over 30 years of global experience in operations and business management. Trained in the UK, he served as the Coordinating Director for Girls for Health (G4H), a Bill and Melinda Gates project in central Nigeria, transforming high school girls into healthcare workers. Prof. Aliyu actively supports local environmental and community health services, focusing on disaster relief and assisting internally displaced persons. His extensive experience and dedication to community health and environmental health make him a vital asset in supporting victims of conflicts and promoting overall well-being.

Mrs. Fatima Batulu

Title: Field Coordinator

Mrs. Fatima Batulu: Field Coordinator, with over 10 years of experience supporting children in IDP camps in northeastern Nigeria and working with various NGOs.

Mrs. Batulu is a passionate educationist, humanist, and activist dedicated to eradicating child marriage and promoting gender equality. She has made a significant impact through her work with internally displaced Boko Haram war victims in Northeast Nigeria. An alumna of Maiduguri University, Mrs. Batulu holds a BSc in Biology and an MA in Public Administration and Biological Sciences. Her career focuses on supporting victims of child marriage and gender-based violence through education, economic empowerment, and community mobilization.

Mrs. Batulu’s initiatives include providing healthcare, mental health support, and vocational training to internally displaced persons. She collaborates with local communities, healthcare providers, and educational institutions to ensure culturally sensitive and effective programs.

Her advocacy efforts push for legislative reforms that protect the rights of girls and women. Batulu’s dedication to justice and equality continues to inspire and drive her mission forward, making her a beacon of hope and resilience.

Dr Aisha Gamawa

Title: Director

Dr. Aisha Gamawa: Public and Education Consultant, responsible for project oversight is an expert in the area of conflicts and supports health and education equity and economic empowerment of girls in northeast Nigeria

Dr. Gamawa is a US-trained public health and education consultant with expertise in conflict areas with over 10 years of field experience. She advocates for health and education equity and the economic empowerment of girls in northeast Nigeria. As a champion of gender empowerment, Am dedicated to supporting underprivileged women. Her commitment to “putting women to work with good health” drives her efforts to create sustainable change and uplift communities. Dr Gamawa is an activist working with government and non-governmental organizations to support women in health, education and women empowerment with specialists in working in conflict areas in West Africa.

Mr. Aliyu Abba

Title: Field Operations Manager

Mr. Aliyu Abba is a Graduate of the University of Maiduguri, a UK-trained Nurse, and an experienced field operator, who has been involved with Internally Displaced children in many conflicts in North and Central Nigeria. Mr. Abba is responsible for field operations and has oversight of other operation support functions.
